Delhi Capitals purchased Shardul Thakur for Rs 10.75 crores.

Shardul Thakur played for Kings XI Punjab from 2015 to 2016. He made his debut in the 2015 season, but he only played one match and took one wicket. Chennai Super Kings purchased the right-arm pacer in the IPL 2018 auction.

Thakur is currently one of India’s best bowlers. He is a regular member of India’s ODI and T20I squads and one of the team’s key bowling all-rounders. The right-arm medium pacer has played 61 IPL matches and has 67 wickets at an average of 27.86.

Last season, the 30-year-old delivered an outstanding performance. In IPL 2021, he took 21 wickets in 16 games at an average of 25.01, finishing as the team’s top wicket-taker. He was not re-signed by the team for the following season. Shardul Thakur set a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself ahead of the IPL 2022 auction.
