“A Fantastic Opportunity To Inspire Millions Of Young Girls: Bismah Maroof

As Pakistan’s captain, Bismah Maroof views the Women’s World Cup 2022 match between India and Pakistan as more than just a cricket game and something that will encourage millions of girls on both sides of the border to take up a bat and dream of making it big in the sport.

As Bismah Maroof well knows, India-Pakistan clashes at marquee tournaments require a certain level of intensity, but she believes the marquee match is more important.

“Pakistan against India is a tremendous stage for any player to demonstrate her credentials,” Maroof, who is making a comeback after motherhood, said the Press Trust of India.

“This match is a fantastic chance to inspire millions of girls in Pakistan and India to pursue a career in this sport.” It is the most important rivalry and draws a lot of attention. “I hope girls in both nations will see this match and be motivated to play,” she continued.

A veteran of Pakistan cricket, Maroof, 30, praised the Mithali Raj-led Indian team, expressed optimism that the ladies will put up a spirited fight against the Women in Blue.

“The Indian squad has recently done well.” “They’ve also had some really good young players come in recently,” she said.

“Our goal is to go to the semi-finals, something we have never done before.” I am confident that this side has all the ingredients to succeed. As the team’s senior player and captain, she believes it is her responsibility to set a good example.

“As the team’s senior player and captain, you must inspire your teammates and set a positive example.”You can’t expect females to do the right things if you’re not doing them yourself. With this team, I have a very clear vision of us being in the top four.”

Maroof has played 108 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and an identical number of Twenty20 matches, scoring 2602 and 2225 runs, respectively.

“I am overjoyed to be back. It’s like if I’m making my Pakistan debut all over again. I am grateful to my family, especially my spouse, who has been a tremendous help to me at this difficult time. “I’d also want to acknowledge the help that the Pakistan Cricket Board has given me through the parental policy,” Maroof said.
