A touching tribute from Kevin Pietersen to Shane Warne

Shane Warne was a special athlete, competitor, and person, said former England captain Kevin Pietersen in a social media post. Shane Warne’s body has been transported back to Australia, where he was born, from Thailand’s capital Bangkok. From Surat Thani province in the south of Thailand, the ambulance convoy and police drove overnight to Bangkok’s airport.

Thai police have come to a decision.While being on vacation on the Thai island of Koh SamuiWarne, 52, died of natural causes. Warne was considered as one of cricket’s greatest bowler, and he was instrumental in Australia’s World Cup victory in 1999.

Shane Warne was a member of five Ashes-winning squads throughout his 15-year international career. The family of Warne has requested that his body be repatriated to Australia as quickly as possible.

Thai authorities said they’ve been working very closely with Australian embassy in Thailand to speed up paperwork and processes to meet the family’s request.

Warne’s family also has accepted the offer of a state funeral following his sudden passing.
