Aaron Finch: Would Have Loved to Have Been There:

Aaron Finch, Australia’s white-ball captain, stated he would have wanted to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after failing to be selected by any side in the IPL Mega Auction on February 12 and 13. Finch scored 2005 runs at an average of 25.71 in 85 IPL matches while representing eight clubs, including 14 half-centuries.

Finch last played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2020 edition of the competition before being dismissed by the team. After going unsold in the IPL 2021 auction, history repeated itself in 2022, when Finch, despite being a Men’s T20 World Cup-winning captain, was not selected by any of the 10 clubs in the super auction.

“I would have liked to have played, without a doubt.” However, given the nature of the Indian franchises, there are a number of top-order batsmen who can perform well. The most common gap in many teams throughout the world, whether domestic or international, is the lack of a number five, six, or seven true power batter (kind of player) “Finch said on SEN’s Dwayne’s World show.

“I wasn’t surprised; I would have liked to be there, but I’ve had ten wonderful years over there, so I can be appreciative.” “Finch added his voice.

Finch also thought that the high demand for batsmen at numbers five, six, and seven was a factor in his decision not to sign with an IPL team ahead of the 2022 season.

“They’re the ones who have probably been in demand a little more than they have been in the past because teams are starting to appreciate the necessity of having power and intimidation, simply boundary hitting alternatives towards the end of the T20 innings.”

Finch was not the only player who did not sell at the IPL Mega Auction. Adam Zampa, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Ben McDermott, Andrew Tye, Ben Dwarshuis, Kane Richardson, all-rounder Moises Henriques and Ben Cutting were also unsold.

For the time being, Finch will captain Australia in the last two Twenty20 Internationals against Sri Lanka in Melbourne.
