All the unretained players will be glued to the television: Rohit Sharma

India’s limited-overs captain Rohit Sharma was overjoyed as his team dominated the West Indies in the fourth ODI in Ahmedabad on Friday, completing a 3-0 series sweep. Rohit seemed upbeat as he spoke to reporters after India won the third ODI by 96 runs. He also gave an update on the IPL 2022 major auctions, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday in Bengaluru.

Rohit joked that all the players who have yet to be retained by their IPL clubs will be glued to their television sets during the auctions, and he also disclosed that he will be turning off his phone during the auctions. “Everyone, including the guys who were not retained, will be riveted to the television, monitoring what is going on. I’m definitely turning off my phone “After the final One-Day International against the West Indies, Rohit Sharma told reporters.

All eyes are on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, which will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. A total of 600 players have been selected to be auctioned off over the following two days. 0 clubs will compete in the two-day mega auction for a total purse of Rs 561.5 crore, hoping to bolster their squads for the 15th season.

In the past, PL auctions have sparked interest because huge stars command big money, while a few lesser-known players turn into million-dollar acquisitions and eventually household names. Notably, Rohit Sharma has guided Mumbai Indians to a record five IPL wins, and his team, along with four-time champions Chennai Super Kings, has been the dominant force in the league.

Despite the inclusion of major personalities in the squad, the Paltan’s last season did not go as planned, as the team crashed out before the playoffs. Rohit Sharma (Rs 16 crore), Jasprit Bumrah (Rs 12 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (Rs 8 crore), and Kieron Pollard have all been retained by MI (Rs 6 crore). With no specialist wicketkeeper-batter in the squad, Ishan Kishan or Quinton de Kock might return.
