Ashleigh Gardner and Mitchell Starc earned top honors at the CA awards.

The Cricket Australia (CA) awards were announced. Mitchell Starc won the Allan Border medal for the first time. The left-arm fast bowler had a sensational year for Australian cricket.

Starc took 43 wickets at an average of 24.4 across all formats of the game. In the Ashes series against England Starc took 19 wickets at an average of 25.36. The best bowling figure of Starc was 4-37 in a pink ball match which was played in Adelaide.

He was also awarded ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year for his performances against West Indies in a three-match series. In the opening game, Strac took 5 wickets and gave only 48 runs.

Mitchell Starc (107) suppressed his teammate Mitchell Marsh by one vote to win the Allan Border Medal. Travis Head came third on the list. He scored 357 runs at an average of 59.50 in the Ashes series. This was the fifth time that a fast bowler had won the major award in the 22-year history of the awards – after Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, and Pat Cummins

Travis Head’s outstanding performance in the Ashes series won him the award of Male Test Player of the Year. While Usman Khawaja was the only player to hit two centuries in the Ashes series.

With 13 votes, Healy won the title of Female One-Day International Player of the Year for a third consecutive year, ahead of Rachael Haynes and Megan Schutt.

The top-order batter Mooney won Female T20 Player of the Year with 13 votes, ahead of Tahlia McGrath and Gardner.

Ashleigh Gardner became the first indigenous person to win the Belinda Clarke award. She scored 281 runs which included four half-centuries and took nine wickets. For the third time, Australian star wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy won the Women’s ODI Player of Year.

T20 Player of the Year Beth Mooney won for the second time in a row.

The awards were decided by a voting process for the period 2021-22.
