ATK Mohun Bagan aim to reach the final

3rd placed ATK Mohun Bagan took on 2nd placed Hyderabad FC in the second semi-final of ISL 2021 – 22 season. The first leg ended in a 3-1 win for Hyderabad FC.

ATK Mohun Bagan is looking for a miraculous comeback in the second leg of the semi-final with Hyderabad FC. They have to erase a two-goal deficit to be back on terms against an all-around Hyderabad team that is having a great season from the off.

Hyderabad FC is at the top in goal-scoring charts having scored 46 goals in the season, 18 of which have come from the Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche . On the other hand, ATK Mohun Bagan have scored 38 goals with their top scorer being Liston Colaco who has scored 8 goals this season.

ATK Mohun Bagan needs to win against Hyderabad FC or at least have a similar scoreline of 3-1 at the end of full time to take the game to extra time and maybe a shootout. Any other result would mean Hyderabad FC is through to the finals where they face Kerala Blasters.

ATK Mohun Bagan would have to find a way of keeping Ogbeche quiet, which is not an easy thing to do. The forward averaged a goal every match, 18 goals in 18 games.

This would be the first time Hyderabad FC would play in the finals, whereas The Mariners would like to avenge their defeat in last season’s final to Mumbai City FC.

It is going to be a tough task of overcoming a 2 goal deficit, but Juan Ferrando and his men know that if they are at their best, they can beat Hyderabad FC and play the ISL final for the second consecutive season.

Manolo Marquez and his men also know that if they get their basics right, they will be playing their first-ever ISL final.

It promises to be a high scoring encounter when the two teams meet at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim, Goa.
