Australia seeps off West Indies to get close to the World Test Championship final

Australia seeps off West Indies: With their commanding 419-run victory over the West Indies in the second Test at Adelaide on Sunday, Australia has taken a step closer to securing their place in the ICC World Test Championship final for the next year.

It means that Australia advances higher in the World Test Championship standings. The Australians currently get an amazing 75 percent win percentage.

With four trips to the batting crease during Australia’s complete dominance, Marnus Labuschagne recorded a double-century and two hundreds, earning him the right to be named player of the series.

Carey’s South Australia teammate and close friend Travis Head was voted player of the match for his 175 in Australia’s first innings, capping off a successful Test for the favorite teams.

The fourth day of the match saw the World Test Championship pacesetters win the series 2-0, with bowler Michael Neser dismissing Marquino Mindley for a duck to secure the victory.

In a three-match series that will start in Brisbane later this week, Pat Cummins’ team will welcome South Africa. After that, they will travel to India for a challenging four-test series in February and March, which might determine which teams advance to the 2019 final.

Cummins missed the destruction in Adelaide because of a quad injury, but he is anticipated to recover in time to lead Australia in the first Test against the Proteas, which commences at the Field on Saturday.

Due to a side strain, fellow pacer Josh Hazlewood is questionable for the game. Scott Boland and Neser, who both played well against the West Indies and have a chance to stay in Australia’s starting lineup, performed well against them.

The West Indies series was extremely upsetting for them, and as a result of their two humiliating losses, they are no longer eligible to compete in the World Test Championship final in 2019.

In the ninth over of the afternoon, Starc put an end to Jason Holder’s dismal tour when he swung the pink ball between the right-speculative hander’s bat and front pad to smash back his off stump.
