Pakistan captain Babar Azam has said that he wants to become the world’s number one batsman in all three formats. Before Babar, Dinesh Karthik had said this in the ICC review. Karthik had expressed confidence in Babar, saying that he can become the first player in the ICC rankings to achieve the number one position in all three formats. On this Babar has said that it is the dream of every batsman to become the number one player in all three formats, but it is not easy.
Babar Azam is currently ranked first in the ODI and T20 rankings, but in Tests he is behind by four batsmen. To become the number one batsman in all three formats, Babar will have to surpass Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root in the Test rankings.
Babar Azam said:
“As a player, it is a dream to be number one in all three formats. For this you have to focus and work hard. It is not like you are number one in one or two formats. You have to You have to score runs easily. If you want to be number one in all three formats, you have to be fit and always on the field. There are frequent matches and there is less rest time. So you have to be a little more fit. “
Babar further said that he is preparing for this. Everything is going well in the limited overs game and hopefully I will be able to do well in Tests as well. Babar Azam was talking about this before the ODI series between West Indies and Pakistan.
