After getting his first pole in his F1 career, Carlos Sainz backs it up with a maiden win at Silverstone. Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton complete podium places.
First things first, we are happy to update you’ll that Zhou Guanyu has been passed fit after his horrific accident. His car went tumbling into the stands and had to be stretchered off but the good news is that he is OK!

Championship leader Max Verstappen took the lead of the race but because of the red flag, had to start second as FIA ruled that the race to be started as the grid looked after the qualifying.
Since then, Verstappen’ race went downhill. He was just able to hold on to 7th place, after being raced to the line by Mick Schumacher.
Sergio Perez had an eventful race to say the least. At the start of the race, he and Charles Leclerc touched, which caused damage to the front wing of both the cars. But, in the end, he came out triumphant in an intense and engaging tussle between him, Hamilton and Leclerc.
Back at home and back on the podium for Lewis Hamilton. With the crowd support behind him, Lewis Hamilton had a magnificent race, which saw him break record as well as get his first podium of the season.
Lewis became the 1st player to have achieved a podium finish at a single venue for the 13th time! He edged out Charles Leclerc, who will be disappointed with how things panned out towards the end. Leclerc lost out on valuable places to both Perez and Hamilton, after the restart. Ferrari called in Sainz to switch him on to the soft tyres, as a result, Leclerc had to stay out, in order to keep position.
Unfortunately, the Frenchman could not find enough grip and after a hard battle, had to yield podium places to Perez and Hamitlon.
Fernando Alonso came out on top in his battle with Lando Norris for 5th. Sebastian Vettel and Kevin Magnussen finished in the points.
Lance Stroll finished in 11th, followed by Nicholas Latifi, Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda. 6 drivers got a DNF(did not finish) next to their name.
Estaban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Alexander Albon and George Russell were not able to finish the race. Extra heartache for Russell, as he gets his first DNF of the season, in his home Grand Prix.
After an eventful race, Sainz gets his first ever win. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in a weeks time at the Austrian Grand Prix, at the Red Bull ring.
