Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer hit blistering 50s

Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer hit blistering 50s : Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer is bringing up a Century Partnership against Bangladesh. The Looking Duo is poised to score a major victory.

As India regained control following early knocks, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer completed their individual half-centuries. Together, they have scored almost 90 runs for the fifth wicket so far. Rishabh Pant, who was cleaned out by Mehidy Hasan for 46, and Pujara previously stitched another 50-plus stand (45).

After choosing to bat after winning the toss, India made a respectable start before losing three wickets quickly. KL Rahul was cleaned up for 22 shortly after Shubman Gill fell for 20, scoring 20. Virat Kohli was taken out by Taijul Islam, the best bowler in the Bangladesh Team, for one.

While the pitch gave the spinners plenty of bite, Pujara remained steadfast at the other end and took second place. Only 89 runs were added to India’s total during the session, but it’s crucial to note that after Bangladesh’s Pant threat was neutralised, Bangladesh was unable to advance further.

Prior of lunch in Chattogram, the hosts have eliminated three of India’s top four in a heap to win the first session of this Test series. India decided without hesitation to bat first on a surface that was favourable for batting. Shubman Gill and acting skipper KL Rahul were India’s fourth opening duo in the previous six Tests, but they both seemed at ease.

India got off to a quick start thanks to Rahul’s flip of the third ball to the fine leg fence. For the most part of the first hour, both batters had no trouble getting boundaries. Before Taijul’s first maiden in eight overs since the morning, Bangladesh made a few early adjustments.

As Bangladesh corrected their earlier errors and bowled more tightly, the runs soon started to dry up. And as a result, the hosts picked up several wickets quickly. When Gill failed in his attempt to premeditatedly sweep Taijul with a paddle, he was furious with himself for having wasted a promising beginning. Similar to Rahul, Khaled Ahmed tempted him in with some width and Rahul too was disappointed with himself after drawing an inside edge onto his stumps.

Virat Kohli was then startled and caught in front of him by a fast spin from Taijul. After lengthy discussions with the non-striker, the former captain of India evaluated the situation, but to no avail. Within six overs, India had fallen to 48 for 3 from a relatively secure 41 without loss.
