Newcastle FC are currently in a comfortable position in the league table. They are 14th in the league with 43 points and have avoided the relegation battles. They will not be having much pressure ahead of the game. The Magpies most recently were shrugged off by the league leaders Manchester City by a 5-0 goal margin. But still, Newcastle are enjoying a slow transitional period as their manager Eddie Howe revived the team which looked most likely to finish in the relegation zone. Though it’s fair to say that, Newcastle will not make it at all easy for Arsenal.
Arsenal FC have currently slipped down to 5th position after their loss to Tottenham Hotspur FC. At this moment, Arsenal are on 66 points and Spurs on 68 points, but The Gunners still have the advantage as they have one more game in hand. Arsenal now have a total of two games in hand that are must-win games for Mikel Arteta and his boys to seal a place in next season’s Champions League. Since this game against Newcastle is an away game, Arteta needs his boys to be focused and not let any slip-ups happen.

Newcastle United: Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson both were on the bench in the last match against Manchester City. They may get a nod depending upon their fitness levels. Ryan Fraser is also back in training and is a probable member to make the squad. Jonjo Shelvey, Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lewis, Issac Hayden and Joe Willock will remain on the sidelines for the match.
Arsenal FC: Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey are out with injury as well as suspended Holding. As defenders, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are doubtful with injury. Questions were raised over Gabriel Martinelli’s fitness in the last match too.

Given Newcastle’s lack-luster performance against Manchester City, and allowing 5 goals, Arsenal may have a slight chance of winning this match. Though Arsenal on their own are too leaky in the defense, given the squad strength, Arsenal will come up with a close-fought win and will get ahead in the race for the top 4.
