Frank Lampard set to become new Everton Manager

Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is all set to become the new manager for Everton football club. The club had conducted board meetings and interviews recently to decide on who is going to be Rafa Benitez’s successor and Lampard has had an agreement with the club in overtaking the managerial roles at the club. The club had run out of patience with Rafa Benitez and sacked him after 200 days of his appointment after the recent loss at Norwich. Having the title of a ‘Mid-table’ club, the people around the club were not happy with the way things were going for them.

Everton currently sits in 16th place in the Premier League table and just 4 points above the relegation zone as well. There were other candidates as well who were seen as potential targets for the job. Former Everton man Wayne Rooney was also approached for the managerial role which was reportedly turned down by him as well as he wanted to stay at Derby County for the time being.

Rooney said “Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the vacant job, which I turned down.

“I believe that I will be a Premier League manager and I believe I’m ready for that 100 percent, and if that is with Everton one day in the future that’d be absolutely great. But I’ve got a job here to do at Derby County which is an important job to me.”

The atmosphere in the stadium was also a sign of the club needing some good changes in terms of recruitment. There was more anger on display after the final whistle by the fans in the last game as around 150 fans stayed behind to protest, chanting “Sack the board”, “Bill Kenwright, get out of our club” and “We want our club back”.
