Lucknow Super Giants ended their campaign after a hard-fought loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gautam Gambhir their mentor took to social media to share his feelings about this new franchise, in their first IPL season.
Lucknow had a good tournament and ended at 3rd place in the IPL table. They won 9 matches and lost 5 on their way. Despite, being their maiden IPL, the franchise earned a well-deserved playoff spot. The KL Rahul-led side looked set to finish at the top 2, but they lost a bit of momentum in the middle and ended up missing the Qualifier 1.
Gautam Gambhir has been one of the main figures in the LSG dressing room along with coach Andy Flower and captain KL Rahul. Gambhir took to social media after their loss to Rajasthan Royals in the IPL Eliminators.
“Hard luck today but a great tournament for our new team. We’ll come back stronger.Until we meet again!” Gambhir wrote in an Instagram post.
LSG came into the eliminators being the favorites. But, a spectacular and brilliant century from the unsung hero Rajat Patidar turned the match completely in RCB’s favor. He finished the innings on not out smashing 112 runs off 54 balls. Though LSG did mount a good fightback, but the momentum was always on the side of RCB.

Gambhir, who was familiar with yesterday’s venue, captaining KKR to two IPL titles, felt his team had more to offer. He felt disappointed given his facial expressions. He was having a long conversation with his skipper KL Rahul after they failed to chase down a target of 208 runs and lost by just 14 runs.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals lost the qualifier1 against Gujarat Titans and will get a second opportunity in the qualifier 2 as they face the winners of the Eliminator, RCB.
