In the Women’s ODI Rankings Mithali Raj Drops To 4th

In the most recent update of the Women’s ODI Rankings, the first five games of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 have resulted in substantial change. Meg Lanning, Australia’s captain, has risen two places in the current women’s ODI batter rankings. She is now only one rating point behind her teammate Alyssa Healy, who now holds the top spot. In the opening game of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, Lanning hit 86 in 110 balls, including seven fours and a six, to help Australia to a huge total of 310. In the last over, they won the game by 12 runs.

Rachael Haynes, the game’s Player of the Match, who hammered a stunning 130 out of 131, gained six positions and broke into the top 10 to take the No. 7 slot in the rankings. The other centurion from the game, Nat Sciver of England, surged five spots to No. 6.

Mithali Raj, on the other side, has dropped to fourth position. Hayley Matthews of the West Indies advanced significantly in the rankings for batters, bowlers, and all-rounders. She was the Player of the Match in the West Indies’ three-run victory against New Zealand, scoring 119 to set a mark of 260 for the White Ferns before taking the wickets of the in-form Amelia Kerr and Brooke Halliday.

Matthews climbed six ranks to No. 4 on the all-rounders list, as well as 12 spots to No. 20 for hitters and three spots to No. 10 for bowlers.

South Africa’s Ayabonga Khaka, who had a four-for against Bangladesh in the first game, was among the other players who rose in the rankings. Furthermore, the Indian combination of Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar, who combined for 122 for India’s seventh wicket to raise them from 114-6 against Pakistan, both moved up to their career-best batting positions.
