India win Semi Finals – 3rd T20 World Cup for the Blind: In the Semifinals played against South Africa yesterday, Indian Team won by massive 207 runs.
The Schedule:
The opening match of the third T20 World Cup for Blind players took place in Faridabad on December 6 between hosts India and Nepal.
The seven-team competition is being played in a round-robin format, where each team will play the other.
As per the schedule , on December 15 the World Cup semifinals was held Bengaluru.
Brand Ambassador:
Former Indian International Cricketer has been named as the Brand Ambassador for the same.He, in the speech that he delivered said,
” When Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) first approached me, the first thought that came to my mind was that even when I was half-awake during my active playing days, I would not dare to face a ball, then how do these cricketers do it. They are real-life heroes. I feel blessed and honored to be amongst them and as brand ambassador I call upon more and more corporates, the government, the public and the media to come forward and support these passionate cricketers. On my part, I pledge to do whatever is in my power to supportCricket for the Blind. I wish all the participating teams, the very best of luck.”
The Semi Finals Attack:
Skipper Ajay Kumar Reddy and Sunil Ramesh put on strong all-around performances to help India defeat South Africa by a score of 207 runs in the first semifinal of the third T20 Cricket World Cup, which was played on Thursday at the Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru, and advance to the Finals.
While captain Reddy hit a quick fire 81 and added three wickets, Ramesh slammed his second century of the competition.
Both the Vice Captain and Wicket Keeper D. Venkateswara Rao and Prakash Jayaramaiah respectively had taken unbeaten quicker runs like Venkateswara scoring 18 of 6 balls and Prakash with a 22 of 12 balls score.
This helped the Team’s score to cross 300 and finished the innings on 337/6.
In regards to the bowling,
Sunil Ramesh’s Perfromance :
Ramesh, who had earlier defeated Nepal to record his first tournament century, was in top form as he attacked the South African bowling. With the aid of 17 boundaries and three sixes, he quickly reached his century and ended his innings at 110 off just 47 deliveries.
Ajay Kumar Reddy, the captain, joined Sunil Ramesh in the middle, where they produced a massive partnership of 144 runs for the fourth wicket. Particularly spoken, some of Ajay’s shots were extremely impressive and aggressive at the same time.
Both of them, had not just scored well, but also, taken 4 wickets put together.
South African Performance:
South Africa responded, but they were never able to gain pace in their pursuit of a huge total. The Indian bowling attack pinned them back, and they frequently lost wickets.
At the conclusion of the first half of the innings, they had fallen to 67/8. Towards the end South Africa scored 130 by the 19.5 overs.
Finals:
This way Indian Team thrashed the South African Team and moved into finals. This is scheduled on 17th December, 2022 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
