India have sealed the series against West Indies. India beat West Indies by 44 runs in the second ODI which meant they have sealed the three match series 2-0. Rohit Sharma kicks off the ODI format with a series win.
India had batted first, but were off to a horrendous start. They had lost three top order wickets of skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant early in the game. But then a 91-run stand between KL Rahul and Surya Kumar Yadav sort of rescued India. Windies debutante Odean Smith turned the tables on India with two wickets. He was very well supported by Alzarri Joseph who also picked up a couple of wickets.
Later, India made early inroads into Windies innings as they chased 238. Prasidh Krishna bowled top class stuff as he picked up a four for to derail Windies line up. Odean Smith gave India a scare with his cameo before he was dismissed by Washington Sundar. On the back of brilliant performances from Prasidh Krishna and Suryakumar Yadav, India attain an assailable lead of 2-0 against West Indies.
