According to a press release from the Indian Premier League, there are 119 overall players with caps and 282 players without caps.

According to the press release, a maximum of 87 seats are now open, with up to 30 reserved for players from abroad. The maximum reserve fee is Rs 2 crore, with 19 foreign players electing to be included in the top category.

Hugh Edmeades of Britain will conduct the auction, just as he did before. In 2018, the BCCI replaced auctioneer Richard Madley with his appointment. He has now become a well-known name at the auction.

Intense bidding took place over two days for 204 players from 10 teams during the IPL 2022 player auction. Over Rs 550 crore was spent on these purchases.
