IPL2022: Dewald Brevis arrives in style, legends React

Dewald Brevis hit the longest six, showed his brilliant fielding in ongoing season of IPL2022

18 years old South Africa’s U-19 star Dewald Brevis, who is known as Baby AB, has been receiving praises from all corners in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, all thanks to his fantastic cricketing skills. Be it his batting or his fielding abilities, Baby AB has impressed everyone with his performances for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing season as Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Jayawardene entered the field during the timeout to appreciate the youngster, he scored 49 runs in just 25 balls and smashed 5 sixes including the biggest six of IPL 2022 But MI lost the match by 12 runs and suffered their 5th consecutive defeat.

On Wednesday, the young talent once again stole all the attention as his fielding and batting prowess were once again on display during an IPL game against Punjab Kings at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

During the Punjab Kings’ innings, Dewald Brevis made everyone jump out of their seat with his remarkable fielding efforts. The incident took place during the first delivery of the 9th over when Shikhar Dhawan smashed a flighted delivery from Murugan Ashwin over the square leg.

Baby AB, who was fielding near the deep backward square leg boundary, ran towards his left and dived full length to grab the ball. However, all the efforts went in vain as the ball slipped out of his hands and lobbed over the boundary line for a six.

Among many, former Indian cricketer and IPL superstar Suresh Raina, who is often seen motivating young talent, also took to his Twitter and wrote a beautiful tweet for Baby AB. He wrote: “Baby AB wat a talent @ABdeVilliers17 ☝️👌✊#PBKSvsMI”

He is acquired by Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 3 crore in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction and he has proved why he was one of the popular player from Under-19 World cup while coming into the mega auction.
