Additionally absent from the January tour will be coach Gary Stead. Instead, his assistant Luke Ronchi will be in charge of a team that will play three ODIs and then three Twenty20 internationals.
Kane Willimson and his captaincy:
Kane Williamson steps down as captain of the BLACKCAPS Test team. Williamson has reaffirmed his intention to play in all three international cricket formats and will continue to serve as the BLACKCAPS’ ODI and T20I captain. He captains the team on this month’s Test tour to Pakistan.
Tim Southee’s captaincy:
Tim Southee will take over the captaincy from Kane Williamson. Southee, who has played in 346 international matches and has captained the T20 team on 22 occasions, will become New Zealand’s 31st Test captain.
When For the away series against Pakistan, which starts on January 10, and India, which is set to begin on January 18, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has named split ODI squads.
Who has replaced who?
Williamson and Southee will be replaced by all-arounder Mark Chapman and pacer Jacob Duffy on the team for the India tour.
