World F1 Champion Max Verstappen has signed a new five-year deal with Red Bull. The Dutchman will be racing for the Red Bull outfit till the year 2028 with his new deal reportedly earning him around $54 Million Dollars per season. The 24-year-old already had his previous contract until the end of the next season but was rewarded with a new contract after beating the 7-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton last year to the title.
Max Verstappen also shared his views on the contract renewal who will begin his new season this month. He said “I really enjoy being part of the Red Bull Racing team, so choosing to stay to the 2028 season was an easy decision,”
“I love this team and last year was simply incredible. Our goal since we came together in 2016 was to win the championship and we have done that, so now it’s about keeping the number one on the car long-term.”
Team principal Christian Horner also reacted to the extension and said: “To have Max signed with Oracle Red Bull Racing through to the end of 2028 is a real statement of intent.
“Our immediate focus is on retaining Max’s world championship title, but this deal also shows he is a part of the team’s long-term planning.”
Last year’s season winner was decided in the final moments of the race after Michael Masi’s controversial race management was not liked by many Mercedes fans and the racing team. The race eventually had ended in the favour of the Red Bull team and they will be looking to carry on the winning momentum forward into the next season as well.
