- On December 26, 2018, Mayank played his first test match in test cricket for the first time against Australia.
- At Melbourne Cricket Stadium, he scored 76 runs in his first test innings, the most ever by an Indian opener in an Australian test. It unquestionably improved Agarwal as a player.
- At a match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam in October 2019, Mayank achieved his first test century. Later, using 23 fours and 6 sixes, he turned this hundred into a double-ton and scored 215.
