Important changes have been announced for the Pakistan cricket team in the Asia Cup 2022. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Hasnain has been included in Pakistan’s 15-man squad in place of injured fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. The Asia Cup is starting on August 27, in which the Pakistani team will play their first match against India on August 28.
Significantly, Shaheen Afridi has had to be out of the Asia Cup 2022. The medical team has advised him to take rest for 4 to 6 weeks after the injury to his right knee. He suffered an injury while fielding against hosts Sri Lanka during the Galle Test match last month.
22-year-old fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, who was named in his place, has played 8 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals for Pakistan so far. He made his international cricket debut in 2019. Till now he has taken 29 international wickets. However, Hasnain has not played any international match for the Pakistan cricket team since December 2021. He was last seen playing in the home T20 series against West Indies.
