After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Toyam Hyderabad aimed to bounce back after a narrow loss to India Capitals in their opening game. On the other side, Gujarat Greats began their Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 campaign under the leadership of new captain Shikhar Dhawan.
Suresh Raina played a captain’s knock for Toyam Hyderabad, scoring a brisk 44 off 27 balls. He was well-supported by Peter Trego, who provided a late surge with a quickfire 36 off 25 balls, helping Toyam Hyderabad post a competitive total of 172/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
However, the chase was dominated by Morne Van Wyk, who delivered a masterclass by scoring an unbeaten 115 runs off just 69 balls. His outstanding performance led Gujarat Greats to a comfortable victory in their first game of LLC 2024.
Toyam Hyderabad, now with two consecutive losses, will need to return to the drawing board to regain their winning momentum in the upcoming matches.
