Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes for a permanent move. Both the clubs have agreed to a £33 million price tag and no relegation clause has been added to the Brazilian’s contract. The deal also includes £6.7 million in add ons as agreed between both the clubs. Newcastle is having a pretty positive transfer window after the arrival of new ownership in the club. This will be Newcastle United’s third signing of the window after already acquiring full-back Kieran Trippier and striker Chris Wood.
Guimaraes has passed his medical in Belo Horizonte as he is currently on international duty with Brazil. After the medical, Bruno will be able to meet his teammates after the break ahead of his move to the Premier League club and will train with the squad, not before Thursday. The 24-year-old midfielder is being considered as the most important signing for Newcastle and they’ll hope that he can bring good things to the club including an escape from the relegation zone.
Newcastle are currently in the bottom 3 of the premier league table and will have to do a lot more than what was being done earlier in the season in order to have a competitive team in the premier league in the future.
