Novak Djokovic has a shot at his 21st Grand Slam title tomorrow, after beating Cameron Norrie in the Wimbledon semi-final clash.
After just edging through into the semi-finals by beating Jannik Sinner 3-2, Novak Djokovic had to come back from behind again but this time, he managed to win 3 straight sets to finish the tie early.
Cameron Norrie too, had to take the tie to the 5th set, in order to advance to the final. He beat David Goffin 3-6, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.
He has now registered 27 wins in a row at the Wimbledon and the defending champion has a chance at clinching his 7th Wimbledon title.
On the opposite side, is the fiery and talented star, Nick Kyrgisos. After Rafael Nadal came back from behind to beat Taylor Fritz, he mentioned that he doubted if he will be able to play the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, the French Open champion had to give into this abdominal injury and as a result, pulled out of the semi-final clash. This gave Nick a bye through to the Wimbledon finals.
Back to the match, Novak Djokovic did not start off as well as he would have. The Serbian lost the 1st set 6 games to 2.
With the crowd cheering on the homegrown star, Djokovic was under pressure from the get go. But, the Serbian showed why he is the World number 1 as well as the defending champion of Wimbledon.
Djokovic’ game went up a notch as he won 3 straight sets to give himself a claim at a 4th straight Wimbledon. Defending Champion, Djokovic won the game 2-6,6-3,6-2,6-4.
As for Nick Kyrgios, he has had a nice long break, since his quarter-final clash against Cristian Garin. The Aussie powered through to the semis by winning 3 straight sets, 6-4,6-3.6-7(5-7).
The final between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios will be played at the centre court tomorrow. Game set to commence at 6:30 pm, IST.
