After a comfortable win against Diego Schwatzman, the number 1 seed Novak Djokovic faces arch rival, the 5th seeded Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic beat the Argentine in the third round in 3 straight sets – 6-1, 6-3, 6-3.
On the other hand, the famed Spaniard Rafael Nadal, toiled hard to get a win against the 9th seeded Felix Auger Aliassime.
The match went till the 5th set, where Nadal came out triumphant 6-3 to set up a tasty quarter-final tie.
Nadal and Djokovic have played 58 times since 2006. Djokovic leads the Spanish champion 30-28 but, Nadal has had the better of the Serbian on Clay Court.
He has won 19 off the 27 times the to have met on a clay court. But, the last time these two met in Roland Garros, Djokovic beat Nadal and went on to win the French Open.
This might just be the last time we get to see Nadal play, if he is beaten tomorrow by Djokovic.
“I know my situation, and I accept it. I can’t complain too much” said the 36 year old.
Nadal, when arrived in Paris, did not know whether he will be able to compete or not.
“I am just enjoying the fact that I am here one more year. And being very honest, every time I play here, I don’t know if it’s going to be my last at Roland Garros. I went through a process again with my foot, so I don’t know what can happen in the near future.”
It will be an enthralling clash for all the Tennis enthusiasts.
The match will be played on 1st June at 12:15 am, IST.
