India’s Test vice-captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the upcoming entire three-Test series against South Africa as his old hamstring damage realigns during the team’s net practice in Mumbai where he also bore a hit on his hand.
“Priyank Panchal replaces injured Rohit Sharma in India’s Test squad. Rohit sustained a left hamstring injury during his training session here in Mumbai yesterday. He has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match Test series against South Africa,” the BCCI tweet stated.
Rohit’s injury is probably to keep the Indians on their toes as another opening batsman Shubman Gill is already ruled out of the South Africa tour with an injury.
The 31-year-old Priyank Panchal is all set to substitute Rohit in the Test team. He has been pulled out of the forthcoming 3-match Test series against South Africa.
