Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson got the green signal for his third Test appearance. whereas David Warner, who was wickedly hit in the ribs in the first Test at the Gabba, has kept his place.
Australian captain Pat Cummins has announced Australia’s playing XI for the 2nd Ashes Test match which will be held at the Adelaide Oval on 16 December. Also, there was some tension enveloping opener David Warner’s availability as he has a rib injury, but the skipper has ensured that the left-hander will take the ground for the 2nd test.
It was clouded whether Warner will be a part of the playing XI team, he continues to suffer from painful ribs after being hit by a Ben Stokes bouncer during the series-opening match in Brisbane last week. The 35-year-old left-hander batted for a brief time in the nets but seemed in pain mainly in attempting to play shots against short-pitched balls shot at his chest. Luckily for the Aussies, Warner has been fit to play at the Adelaide Oval.
Australia will go into the second Test with a 1-0 lead on their hands with the sweeping 9-wicket triumph in the Gabba Test. Head won the Man of the Match award for his 148-ball 152 while Pat Cummins’ captaincy time also got off to an excellent start.
Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Jhye Richardson.
