Premier League fixture between Tottenham Hotspurs and Brighton & Hove Albion, on Sunday 12 December, has been postponed following a Premier League Board meeting this afternoon.
The Premier League Board took the decision to postpone the game following guidance from medical advisers, with the health of players and staff the priority. The fixture will be rescheduled in due course.
Spurs requested the match to be rearranged following a significant number of positive COVID-19 cases among players and relevant staff. The situation on their upcoming Europa Conference League against Stade Rennais is still not clear.
As with our other affected fixture, against Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League, we shall update supporters with more information as soon as it is available.
The club issued a statement that read- “We Would like to apologize to everyone at Stade Rennais and Brighton & Hove Albion and to both their supporters and ours for any inconvenience caused.”
The new COVID-19 variant is running havoc in the country and there were talks that yesterday’s match between Manchester United and Norwich would not take place as Norwich have a high no of COVID cases amongst their players and staff but the match did happen and the reds claiming the victory.
