RCB play KKR in a bid to get the first points on board

RCB lost against Punjab Kings on Sunday and would want to get the first win on the board against KKR. KKR won their first match against defending champions CSK.

Previous match

Royal Challengers Bangalore put on a formidable score of 205 when they faced Punjab Kings. Faf Du Plessis was the top scorer with 88 runs. Virat Kohli and Du Plessis had a big partnership that helped them to 205. But, the bowlers let the team down as Punjab Kings managed to chase down this huge total with 6 balls to spare.

A worrying sign for RCB was the number of extras they gave away. They would like to put in a disciplined bowling performance today.

Kolkata Knight Riders on the other hand, beat the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Shreyas Iyer asked CSK to bat first. Umesh Yadav had a brilliant spell as he dismissed last seasons orange cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck.

CSK posted an average total of 147 thanks to a wonderful half century from MS Dhoni. But, it wasn’t enough. Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer gave a good start to KKR and set a platform from where Shreyas Iyer guided them home.

Injury Update

No injury updates as of yet. Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch will again miss the match against RCB. Whereas RCB, will miss the services of Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood and Jason Behrendorff.

Pitch Report

Expect a similar pitch as that on Sunday. Ball will swing a bit early on but once settled, runs will comeby easy. Captain winning the toss would like to bowl first.
