Formula One has announced that the Russian Grand Prix which was supposed to be hosted by the country during the 2022 F1 season has now been cancelled because of the country’s continued intervention of Ukraine in recent days. Formula One officials have issued a statement regarding the same stating that there is absolutely no way that the Russian GP can take place in the country.
The official statement read “The FIA Formula 1 World Championship visits countries all over the world with the positive vision to unite people, bringing nations together. We are watching the developments in Ukraine with sadness and shock and hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to the present situation.
On Thursday evening Formula 1, the FIA, and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion, is including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix in the current circumstances,”
