Shreyas Iyer sold to KKR for 12 Crore 25 Lakhs – Most expensive player so far

The Kolkata Knight riders have bagged Shreyas Iyer in the first round of the Tata IPL mega auction 2022 for a massive amount of 12 Crore 25 Lakhs. He is now the most expensive player in the IPL history as well. KKR have trusted Shreyas with their investment as they look for a charismatic Indian batsman and even a possible captain in their ranks now.

The first round which only included the 10 marquee players of this year’s Indian Premier League season saw some big buys going to many franchises. Another bidding war saw South African bowler Kagizo Rabada go to the Kings XI Punjab for a whopping amount of 9 Crore and 25 Lakhs.

It will be really interesting to see how the teams go about the rest of the auction with some of the teams still not buying a player as of now.
