Sindhu Fails To Break Ying Jinx

PV Sindhu, who has India’s most prosperous medal haul from the World Badminton Championships, will be back home empty-handed from the encounter this time. It was a blow for defending champ PV Sindhu, who lost to normal foe Tai Tzu Ying in the women’s singles quarterfinals. In the second, it was actually till the 12th point before Sindhu mislaid priority and finally the match.

Alternatively, Sindhu can hit her way out with a very intelligent raid, but Tai Tzu was not surprised a little, made to believe, put off her pace, she sinks into her excellent little grandness of splendid deceitful shots, and can recover everything. The Taiwanese’s all-around superiority made sure that plan never took form in a 21-17, 21-13 win.

It was a one-sided match, with Sindhu’s mini-renewal was not enough to hold her.

“It was not my day,” Sindhu said. “It was close but in the second game at 12-all, I gave her four-five points. I think I took a break there. With Tai Tzu, there are no easy points. A bit sad that I was not able to win a medal here,” Sindhu added.

On the other hand, Kidambi Srikanth became the third Indian to enter the semi-finals of the BWF Worlds in men’s singles with a prevailing 21-8, 21-7 victory against Mark Caljouw
