Smriti Mandhana first player sold at WPL auction, goes to RCB for INR 3.4 crore

Delhi Capitals have roped in Under-19 T20 World Cup winning captain Shafali Verma for a price of INR 2 crore for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore were part of a bidding war before Mumbai Indians came in with a bid of INR 1.3 crore. However, Delhi Capitals persisted and bagged the player for INR 2 crore

Vastrakar’s base price is ₹50 lakh. DC and MI start the bidding war and the tag rockets past ₹1 crore. Warriorz enter at ₹1.2 crore. The price goes up to ₹1.8 crore with the Warriorz. MI have a long discussion and then raise the paddle again. Warriroz back out, MI have Vastrakar at ₹1.9 crore.

Sune Luus, Danni Wyatt and Chamari Athpaththu all go unsold. Harleen Deol is then acquired by the Gujarat Giants for ₹40 lakh.
