Showdown in Bangkok between India’s boxing superstar Neeraj Goyat & Thailand’s Rachata Khaophimai at the most awaited The Fighter Thailand World Boxing Series – 2nd July 2022 live at Spaceplus Bangkok , Thailand.

Neeraj Goyat is a former 3x WBC Asia Champion & the current WBC Ambassador to India. His name needs no introduction & with a huge boxing fan following in the South Asian region Neeraj considers this an important fight for his further 2022-2023 bucket list. Meanwhile Rachata holding an impressive record of 11 Wins (8 KOs) & only 1 Loss will bring in a tough battle in the ring.

Next up, Neeraj speaks about his upcoming fight in Thailand against

” is a very young boxer who has made a mark at the World Stage. He has 11 wins in a row, that include 7 K/O wins! To add to this, he has lost just 1 match till now.”

“So this fight is extremely important for me, as if I win this, for the rest of the year, I will get such competitive fights.”

Neeraj speaks about whom to watch out for, for India at the Commonwealth games, 2022.

“Majority of the team that is going to England to compete for the medal is an inexperienced one. Only 2 of the whole team travelling to England has prior experience, Shiva Thapa and Rohit Tokas.”

“So overall, the team is a perfect blend of experience and youth. Moreover, this team is led by Coach Narender Rana, has an outstanding record as a coach.”

“When he was the coach of Services, the Services hardly put a foot wrong and would end up winning each and every tournament they played. So now, I feel we have a shot at winning with this team and coach.”

“As for the results from the Commonwealth games, I expect 6 Medals off which, 2 will be Gold. This is a prediction purely based on the trust and awe I have for the Coaching of Narender Rana and the talented individuals that India has sent to compete for the Medals at the Commonwealth Games, 2022.”

Neeraj Goyat has also worked with famed Bollywood stars Farhan Akhtar and Ramcharan. He shares his delightful experience with the Actors.

“2-3 months before the release of “Toofan”, Farhan Akhtar and I would practice together. If there were some scenes to be choreographed, we did them together too. Farhan Akhtar excels in all aspects of life, be it as a friend or an actor. As a result, Farhan and I gelled well. Whenever he had an doubt about boxing he would approach me without any hesitance and whenever I had some query about acting, he would help me out.”

Neeraj worked with Ramcharan too, for the recently released RRR.

“Ramcharan too is a top professional and trained well with me for 2-3 months. He is a very down to earth guy. In fact, when I used to stay at Hotel during training, Ramcharan would call me up and ask me should I send homemade food to your room?”

Both Toofan and RRR endured great success and Neeraj helping the lead actors learn Boxing was a part of that success too.

Lastly, Neeraj helps us differentiate between Professional level and amateur Boxing.

“There’s a huge difference between the two. While Amatuer boxing has only 3 rounds of 3 minutes each, Professional Boxing starts with 4 rounds and in some big event cases, lasts 12 rounds.”

“The gloves at the amatuer level have a bit of extra padding compared to the ones used at the professional level.”

It was a fun interview with Neeraj where we learnt about the game, his journey and we wish him best of luck for his upcoming bout in July in Thailand.
