Sports Trumpet exclusive with fitness icon Krishna Shroff

In the interview with Sports Trumpet, Krishna Shroff speaks about the MFN 9 that took place yesterday.

The 9th edition of Matrix Fight Night, which is sanctioned by the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA), India’s Largest and Oldest Governing body for Mixed Martial Arts in India, and the Global Authority for Mixed Martial Arts Federations (GAMMAF), at Siri Fort Sports Complex, Badminton Courts, witnessed a night of high-octane mixed-martial fights

MFN is a passionate project of fitness icon Krishan Shroff, in exclusive chat with Sports Trumpet she revels about the female fighters

Participants like Jojo Raj Kumari, Pooja, who did not have the best of resources while growing up, will fight it out at the biggest stage in India.

Krishna describes them as inspirational.
“These girls are so inspiring and motivating and are women that I personally look up to.”

“They are strong not just physically but also mentally and I know for a fact that these girls can be a role model for the young girls today.”

When quizzed about the MFN 9, Krishna was unable to keep her excitement under check.

“I have massive expectations from MFN 9. I feel like you know the fighters, understand the game.”

In fact Krishna stated that the fight cards for MFN 9 are the best fight cards they’ve had till date.

“This time has surpassed everything. For the first time, we have introduced a Super Fight. We also have another international talent, who’s come down from Serbia to take part in the main event for the first time.”

“We have 2 female bouts and a lot of fresh talent for which I am super excited.”

Next, Krishna shared her thoughts on the very successful MFN 8 season.

“Here in New Delhi, we are at the heart of fighting capital of the country. We attracted a lot of fans last time out. I always stress the point that it is the fans, who make our show.”

“Having the fans back for the event is an absolute blessing. We were fortuitous to put on shows in the midst of a pandemic but, the energy that the MFN fans bring in, was lacking. We are very excited to repeat what we saw at MFN 8 with MFN 9.”

Lastly, Krishna speaks on how she decided to start MFN.

“I’ve always been very strong in my belief of following something that I truly feel passionate about.”

“I grew up with a lot of insecurities and I lacked a lot of self confidence. I struggled with being over weight for the majority of my childhood and teens. So when I took up kickboxing, it really changed my life.”

“Not only did I see a change physically but also experienced a mental shift. I had focus and drive, which I had never had before. This motivated me to go on and Fitness became my passion.”

“MMA is the fastest growing sport and the fitness industry is the most booming industry today. I believe that fitness and MMA are the present as well as the future. So all of this really stemmed the idea of having a fight league of our own.”

Director of Operations, Alan Fernandes also shared his views on MFN 9.
” The intensity was really high throughout the show. We saw a lot of fights which went to Round 3. There was a lot of talent on display in MFN 9, which only shows the growth of the platform. We can only get better from here.”
