With 86 runs at stumps on the first day of the second Test against India in Bengaluru, Sri Lanka had fallen behind India’s 252 total on the first day. After deciding to bat, Shreyas Iyer smashed 92runs off 98 balls to empower India score 252 all out in 59.1 overs. With a 26-ball 39, India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant came in second, followed by Hanuma Vihari with 31.
Before the break, Virat Kohli was dismissed for 23 runs, and captain Rohit Sharma was out on 15 runs.
Lasith Embuldeniya, Praveen Jayawickrama, and Dhananjaya de Silva all got three wickets for Sri Lanka.
Only one change was made to India’s starting XI, with Axar Patel replacing Jayant Yadav.
