ENG vs IND : A very bad news is coming out for Team India before the first ODI against England to be held in London from today . Team India’s star batsman will not be able to play in the 1st ODI against England .
Virat Kohli suffered a groin injury during the 3rd T20I , as a result his presence in the 1st ODI against England at The Oval on Tuesday doubtful .
Although the details of Kohli’s injury is not known ,yet the Indian Team Management may give him a break in the first ODI against England , so that he remains available for the next two matches which are scheduled to be played on July 14 and July 17 respectively.
A BCCI source said, “Virat has suffered a groin injury during the last match. It is not yet known whether it happened during batting or during fielding. He probably won’t play today’s match.”
According to sources, Virat Kohli has not come from Nottingham to London in the team bus. Medical check up can be a reason behind this. On Monday, only the players selected for the ODI squad, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur and Krishna, took part in an optional practice session. This is the reason why the team for the five-match T20 series in West Indies and America will now be selected on Tuesday.
Chances are that Kohli has sought rest from the entire series against West Indies. Meanwhile, the BCCI has decided to send the West Indies team from Manchester by chartered aircraft due to the threat of corona infection.
Virat Kohli scored 1 and 11 runs in two matches of the recently played three-match T20 series against England. Now there is talk of dropping Virat Kohli from the T20 team as well.
