Sunrisers Hyderabad hope domestic players will shine
Sunrisers Hyderabad have invested a lot on domestic talent at the IPL Mega Auction 2022.
Sunrisers Hyderabad re-bought Priyam Garg for INR 3.3 crore and a massive amount of INR 8.5 crore invested for services of Rahul Tripathi at IPL Mega Auction.
They also retained the services of pace bowler Umran Malik. The pacer turned many heads with his quick bowling. He was retained for INR 4 crore by SRH.
Sunrisers Hyderabad signed all rounder Abhishek Sharma for INR 6.5 crore. A lot is expected from him this season.
Indian all rounder Washington Sunder was also signed by SRH for a whopping INR 8.75 crore.
Him alongside Abhishek Sharma would be expected to help the team build pressure on the batting side in the middle overs.
They also outbid everyone to land wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran. This is a very crucial investment, considering the horrific IPL the West Indian had the last time around.
Pooran could manage a meagre 85 runs in 12 innings as compared to the 353 he got in 14 innings in 2020.
Sunrisers Hyderabad would hope that their middle order fires as their batting looks rather thin as compared to its bowling attack.
SRH who won the IPL in 2009 and 2016, would like to do so the third time in this years Tata IPL 2022.
If the domestic young guns fire, it will be a successful campaign if not, then a long rebuilding phase lies ahead of Kane Williamson.
The two time champions play their first match of the season against Rajasthan Royals on 29th March.
