Team India Creates History At Centurion

India knocked South Africa’s three surviving wickets soon after lunch to unclose a 113-run conquest on the last day of the Test series opener match against South Africa in Centurion on Thursday.

After the Indian team set a powerful target of 305, Proteas were at 182 runs with seven wickets loss till the lunch against India on the final day of the series opener on Thursday. 

At the lunch break, Temba Bavuma and Marco Jansen were on the pitch to chase the target batting on 34 and 5 separately, as the hosts were trailing India by 123 runs. South Africa ended the fourth day at 94/4 with captain Dean Elgar not out on 52 after Indian batsmen surrendered in on the ground with variable bounce, getting all out for 174 in just 50.3 overs.

Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah all took wickets each on the last day. Nevertheless, it was Bumrah who was in the limelight of the match because of his performance for knocking out the big wicket of Dean Elgar.

Earlier, on the fourth day, India’s second innings was decreased to 174 runs. Rishabh Pant contributed 34 and KL Rahul made 23 runs. At the same time, Virat Kohli got out due to outer swing after knocking just 18 runs. Both South African bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jensen knocked 4-4 wickets for their team.
