Australia’s former captain Ricky Ponting has mourned the passing of spinner Shane Warne, describing him as one of the best bowlers he has ever faced or played with. On Friday, Warne, 52, died of what appeared to be a heart attack. The words I use to describe my feelings are hard to find.
It was at the academy that I first met him when I was fifteen years old. This is where my moniker comes from. Almost a decade has passed since we were teammates, sharing all of life’s highs and lows.

You could count on him to put his friends first and to be there for you in times of need. I’ve never had the pleasure of playing alongside or against a better bowler. Rest in peace, King,he continued.
A saddened Ponting expressed his condolences to Warne and indicated that the news will take some time to sink in. “I’ve got a few hours now to analyze it all and reflect on how significant dad was in my life and reminisce about a lot of those experiences,” Ponting continued.
