Tickets for the India vs Pakistan match sold out within five minutes of being on sale.

While the schedule for the event has already been released, with India and Pakistan due to square off once more, tickets for the group stage match have already sold out in less than five hours. The match between the two arch-rivals will take place on October 23, 2022, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). MCG is one of the world’s largest stadiums, with a seating capacity of around 1 lakh.

This comes after 200,000 tickets were sold during the pre-sale period for the 45 matches scheduled to be played in Australia between October 16 and November 13 of this year. The allocations for India against Pakistan match were sold out within five minutes of being on sale, indicating the high demand to watch one of the world’s most heated rivalries.

Over 800,000 fans are anticipated to witness the global showcase for men’s T20 cricket when it visits Australia for the first time, and there are still plenty of seats available in the general public sale for all remaining matches.

“The response from the fans has been fantastic,” said ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Local Organising Committee CEO Michelle Enright. “We’re proud of the fact that we were able to reward our fans who purchased tickets to the postponed event in 2020 and those who registered early with us to get priority access to tickets in the pre-sale.”
