Usman Khawaja, Australia‘s batsman, revealed a huge flashback photo on social media before the commencement of the first Test against Pakistan. When his family departed for Australia, he was five years old.
“This photo was shot about 30 years ago, two weeks before we embarked on our voyage to Australia. I was practising my shots on the old Rawalpindi ground (practice wickets). Who’d’ve guessed I’d be back for the green and gold? I can’t wait to get back out there again.” Khawaja wrote the caption for the post.
Khawaja, on the other hand, has been picked in Australia’s starting lineup for the opening Test against Pakistan.
Pakistan will be aiming for a strong start on Day 1 of the first Test after deciding to bat. Australia chose only one spinner, Nathan Lyon, whereas Pakistan chose three spinners, Sajid Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Nauman Ali.
For the first time in 24 years, Australia is in Pakistan. Both teams will play three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and a single Twenty20 International.
Under the captaincy of Mark Taylor, Australia won the last test series they played in Pakistan, 1-0.
The second test will be held at Karachi’s National Stadium, while the third test will be conducted at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
