The Kolkata Thunderbolts and Ahmedabad Defenders are ready to face off on Saturday in the RuPay Prime Volleyball League at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad as the race to the Semi-Finals stage heats up.
Rahul K of Kolkata remarked before of their game against the Defenders, who are now third in the rankings, “When Ashwal (Rai) was hurt soon before our previous match, the team was shaken and felt unprepared for the game against the Hyderabad Black Hawks. We will, however, attempt to improve and perform well against the Ahmedabad Defenders. Angamuthu (Universal) and Libero Prabakaran P have been excellent for Ahmedabad. We’ll devise plans for them.”
The Attacker also stated that he intends to be more outspoken in forthcoming games “It’s been a pleasure to be a part of the squad. However, I need to improve my initial passes as well as be more outspoken during the game. Everyone on the team has informed me that I’m scoring points, but I’ve been doing it discreetly. As a result, in our forthcoming matches, I’ll strive to cheer on my teammates while simultaneously playing my game.”
Speaking ahead of their game against the Thunderbolts, who are at the second place in the standings, Ahmedabad’s Angamuthu said, “All the departments have been contributing to the team’s success this season. However, our game wasn’t up to the mark yesterday (against Bengaluru Torpedoes) as compared to our first three matches. We are looking to develop our blocking skills before our game against Kolkata Thunderbolts. We are still playing well as a team. We need to regain the momentum and come back stronger in the next match.”
Angamuthu added that he’s looking to improve his own game as well, “I’ve been very happy to perform for my team in this tournament, however, I wasn’t satisfied with my performance in our last match since we lost the game. I am looking to improve my game and provide more support to the team in the upcoming matches.”
The Kolkata Thunderbolts will take on Ahmedabad Defenders at 1850 hrs on Saturday, 19 February 2022.
