World Championship: PV Sindhu Eyes Title Defence

India’s two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu will eye to bring her finest to the onward on the big podium when she starts her crown defence at the BWF World Championships starting on Sunday.

Olympic medallist has been in outstanding form as she claimed her second silver medal at the ending of the World Tour Finals after three straight semifinals end at the French Open, Indonesia Masters, and Indonesia Open.

The 26-year-old blazing shuttler from Hyderabad will now dart to seal the season with a victorious defence of her chaste World championship label, which she had proclaimed two years ago in Basel, Switzerland. 

The game has failed a lot of polish with the departures of the entire Indonesian delegation and other favored players such as two-time champion Kento Momota. 

While Sindhu will desire her chances, possessing the crown will still be much easier said than accomplished as she still has to encounter the likes of Thai Pornpawee Chochuwong, top Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, and Korea’s young hit An Seyoung.

A Seyoung has been in sparkling form as she proclaimed back-to-back championships at Indonesia Masters, Indonesia Open before capturing her chaste World Tour Final title, becoming the first from her country to do so.

Sindhu, who got a farewell in the first round, will unlock her drive against Martina Repiska, whose first-round opposition Ruselli Hartawan also pulled out. A victory will put her face to face with Pornpawee Chochuwong, who has dominated the Indian twofold in the last two meetings.
